I'm a photographer and retoucher based in Austin, TX. My personal work explores themes of memory and loss, depicting mood as well as moment with expressive color and subtle detail.

Originally from the “Pennsyltucky” part of Pennsylvania, I spent several years in Washington, DC and San Francisco before finding my way to Austin in 2000. Like most Austinites, I play in a band you probably haven’t heard of and live for the next breakfast taco.

Selected Projects

“Road Trip” (working title) - 2018 to Present

An ongoing project using images made during long hours on the road while on tour to suggest a narrative of half-remembered memories.

“Prague Revisited” — 2014 to 2016

I lived in Prague as a student in the Fall of 1994, a few years after the “Velvet Revolution” that ended Communism. Twenty years later, I went back to make images of the city, exploring the built environment and revisiting my past.

“The Fire of Fires” — 2009

Long-term project documenting the six-month build process of “The Fire of Fires”, a 3-story temporary structure built in Austin and installed in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for the 2009 Burning Man Festival. Documentation tasks included coverage of construction progress, crew portraits and photos of the structure in use by festival attendees.

“Resolution Clock” — 2008

Crew photographer for an art installation produced for the City of Austin’s New Year’s Eve festivities. A 34-foot tall wooden clock tower was assembled at Auditorium Shores and set on fire in front of a crowd of 80,000 people as the finale to the City’s First Night Parade.
